NPD Project Manager, Bucks. £30,000 - £35,000 p.a. plus benefits
Main Purpose of Job: Support the NPD department to launch product innovation into the UK and International baby food markets. Conduct continuous NPD research to identify industry trends and opportunities for growth. Efficient end-to-end project management to deliver existing product development projects from brief to launch in line with ever changing retailer range changes.
·Conduct regular store visits/competitor reviews to identify market trends/consumer needs /innovation – feedback observations to the team and help to build innovation pipeline for 2020 and beyond
·Efficient end-to-end project management to deliver existing product improvement projects for the UK and export markets liaising with key stake holders across the business.
·Take feedback from internal teams and consumers to deliver continuous improvement of existing product ranges.
·Manage existing packaging projects from brief to launch liaising with all relevant stake holders at weekly packaging meeting.
·Liaise with external packaging companies/printers to ensure all artwork is to spec and approved by all necessary team members.
·Assist NPD Manager to brief and lead product development requirements with new suppliers to produce optimum products / recipes/packaging against key criteria.
·Request samples and lead taste panels with the wider team to validate new products against key criteria – feedback to suppliers as required.
·Provide support in monthly NPD meetings to prepare samples and capture feedback.
·Ownership of all product crib sheets ensuring information is accurate and up to date at all times.
·Support sales team to ensure they have commercials, samples, artwork and robust USPs as required for retailer presentations.
·Support logistics team to ensure they have all necessary product details to place orders including product pricing, pallet plans, packaging formats.
Key Technical Skills/Knowledge/Professional Qualifications Required:
·Educated to degree (or equivalent) level in marketing, food, business or project management
·2+ years project management experience including managing key stake holders and working to tight deadlines
·Knowledge of the food retail industry would be beneficial plus a clear understanding of the product development process from concept through to launch
·Working knowledge of technical aspects of food development/innovation
·Experience of managing multiple projects and working under pressure to tight deadlines
