Role Title: Commercial Analyst (6 month contract)

Salary: £60K

Location: Bracknell (with flexible working)

Appointing Manager: Sales Director UK & ROI

Primary Purpose of the Role:

  • As the Commercial Analyst for a footwear company, you would be responsible for interrogating data and information shared by their parent company in addition to other information sources to build clear recommendations for the UK and international distributor markets to enable a smooth migration of the business from the company to their parent company.
  • You will need to form a view on:
  • The full business P&L at market, customer and SKU level
  • Interrogate the business costs model
  • Recommended retail and distributor pricing
  • Value chain assessment from COGs to Retail Price
  • Volume and value forecasting
  • Review the current and future promotional spend / ROI
  • Part of this role is to support the Sales Directors to imbed the collaborative culture within the commercial organisation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Interrogating data shared by their parent company to form a full commercial plan for the UK & ROI and the international distributors
  • Reviewing monthly (and historical) Nielsen data for the footcare category drawing out actionable recommendations
  • Reviewing monthly distributor sell out data and reporting on sales trends
  • Developing and working with the Footcare market dashboard
  • Understanding the historical and current promotional activity and spend with a view find opportunities to improve future activity with a core focus on driving brand penetration and increased return on investment
  • Producing accurate volume and value forecasts by market, customer and SKU level by month taking account of seasonality to share with the incoming sales team
  • Forming a record of competitor activity and its impact
  • Input to project work where appropriate

Decision Making Authority:

  • Commercial recommendations for the UK and ROI market
  • Commercial recommendations for the International Distributors
  • Commercial recommendations - Full P&L

Performance Indicators Include:

·The smooth migration of the UK & ROI and International Distributor markets from parent company to the business

·Positive impact on the full P&L

·Identification of profitability enhancing actions


·Effective communication skills with an ability to draw actionable insight from complex data

·Ability to define and articulate strategic intent, with clear understanding of the difference between strategic and tactical issues

·A strong work ethic and the ability to think outside of the box

·Displays sound business judgment, curiosity, attention to detail and learning agility

·Demonstrated success in a commercial sales environment

·Knowledge of the UK & ROI retail market

·Experience of distributors / international markets is helpful

·Healthcare industry experiences is a plus
