What We Do and Who We Are

Established in 1999 as Key Selection, Nova Search & Selection started out as a specialist insurance recruitment company. We developed a loyal client base, and an awesome database of candidates, and we even specialised in the Credit & Political Risks insurance markets, gathering an exceptional network of contacts that provide referrals and market intelligence. We are still present in those markets today.

However, 12 years ago we started working closely with a challenger brand, Kiddylicious (www.kiddylicious.com).  They were new into the kids snacks market, and quickly rose to be no. 2 in the UK with a turnover of £21 million today. Over the first 10 years we offered a full HR function and recruited the majority of their staff, including those in the leadership team. We sat in on board meetings, and we contributed employee relations and recruitment strategy advice. We were an extension of their team!


 

 

 

Kiddylicious is a huge success story. The Founder, Sally Preston went on to sell Kiddylicious to Lotus Bakeries in August 2018, and has semi-retired, although she continues to work closely with start-ups herself to offer advice and support. She also gained an MBE for her services to the food industry in 2019.


For our part, we continue to work with Lotus Bakeries since they purchased Kiddylicious in 2018, and recently supplied 3 of their supply chain team. 


That 12 year experience of working so closely with Kiddylicious has opened other doors for us in the start-up challenger brand world, and we LOVE it. We have learned a lot about the difficulties challenger brands face in all areas, and enjoy offering advice and insights where we can. We continue to offer a package which is not just recruitment, but if we assist a start-up with a new position, we also handle every HR aspect, such as all the documentation, including Offer Letter, Contract, even the Staff Handbook. We supply all of these things and the company knows that they are not only getting the BEST new hire possible, but that they are fully legally compliant too. You have access to an HR Manager 24/7. No other recruiter for challenger brands currently offers this access to HR support, which with the complexity of employment law is a must!
